Finding success in remote careers

If you work from home for Progressive, you’ll find success by adopting the same practices as office-based work.

  • Dedicate area for your office space: This is where you’ll be spending many hours each week, so don’t underestimate the power of your surroundings influencing your performance. Things like personal computers and televisions can be distracting, so keep the volume low. Take time to consider lighting and make sure your screen doesn’t have a glare.
  • Plan for your pets: Replace the squeaker toys with a chew stick. Move that dog bed a little closer to your chair so they can nap while you work. Walking the dog during your lunch break is an absolute perk!
  • Continue to have a good work/life balance: Make sure you maintain separation so you can leave work at work. If possible, avoid using your office space for personal tasks. And, you'll continue to have your breaks and lunch time to dive into household tasks or visit with family members.
